Amanda Brugel

Brugel is the sole Canadian actor in the Season 1 team. It was her only appearance at times. But in Season 2 she became a series permanent and has been a part of the team since. While discussing her role, and the similarities with her real life, Brugel could connect to issues of racism and discrimination she's faced throughout her life. She said: "I lean heavily on race. As previously mentioned, have encountered situations where I felt that I was treated like an inhumane slave simply because I am African-American." I've never experienced physical abuse in real life because of my race, however I've certainly experienced verbal abuse. The kind of racist slurs or insults that felt like an actual hit or a blow to me can be utilized in the show when someone uses words that are hard and biting.
